“Vom Chaos zur Wirklichkeit”: A Nietzschean Account

Abstract

This paper explores Nietzsche’s conception of the epistemological path from “chaos” to “reality” and the extent to which it aligns with seminal ideas in Carnap’s constitutional system. More precisely, I argue that key themes from the 1917 edition of "The Will to Power" that Carnap consulted and cited in the Aufbau may have informed aspects of his project. This suggests the possibility of a direct, if surprising, Nietzschean influence on Carnap’s conceptual framework.
